Square Tie
The priest's collar is located on the neck of the non-liturgical clothing worn by Catholic priests. Uniforms serve as public guardians of ideology: that small white square sublimates the power and influence of the Catholic Church. The main aspect of this work is desacralization, i.e., the profanation of a symbolically potent garment through its popularization as a widely accepted fashion accessory. However, profanation is not the same as blasphemy: the goal is not cheap mockery but democratic appropriation, i.e., the dispersion of the symbolic power of the garment to make it accessible and appealing to everyone.
The secondary aspect of this work is performative: exploring the intersubjectivity between individuals with a profane collar and the environment that will react to them in public space. If we are compelled to adhere to a prescribed ritual pattern when encountering a priest, the profane collar frees us and encourages spontaneous reactions: astonishment, discomfort, laughter – in short, freedom of speech and behavior. Fashion can and should emancipate us!

vasco is the brainchild of a passionate designer who believes in the transformative power of fashion. I specialize in creating colorful and provocative designs applied to drawstring bags, tote bags, and clothing that are not just accessories or garments, but statements of rebellion and freedom.
Each of my products is meticulously crafted, reflecting my commitment to quality and sustainability. My bags are handmade, and clothing (so far ;) is produced in collaboration with a local printing company, ensuring that every piece is unique and environmentally friendly.
Inspired by social issues, politics, art, and love, my designs are more than just visually appealing. They are a bold commentary on the difficult world we live in, aiming to challenge norms, provoke thought, and inspire change.
I believe that fashion is a tool of oppression and mass enslavement, but that it can also be a path to freedom and personal emancipation. Through these vibrant and thought-provoking designs, I strive to empower my fellow partisans to express themselves freely and promote a more inclusive and equal world.
